Hows that record coming along? You wll recall in-the first element of this line I covered finding a list together of ideas for the site or blog market. Hopefully you've a sizeable set of basic types. The following steps involve narrowing the keywords and then performing some supply and demand study.

There are many keyword resources out there. I like to work with Overtures since its free and easy. Keep in mind the figures from Overture are usually inflated sometimes somewhat sometimes a lot. They fudge the numbers by counting like questions fly and flies or affiliates and internet get counted as the same question. Remember they earn more money persuading their potential advertisers a search term is common.

So plug in one of many common search terms from your list. Im going to try dogs. Here are the results:

Queries done in February 2006

Depend Research Expression

1104234 dog

225786 breed of dog

183180 dog education principles

152056 dog show

139072 dog breeders

98321 dog name

97021 dog instruction

91172 dog picture

88480 dog available

62657 dog brushing

56907 dog present

I edited several like sneak dog out for expediency. I prefer dog training [basics] and dog breeds. Seems like folks are looking for both quite a bit. Given that we've the desire, lets look at to Google and check the source. For further information, you may check out: seo tools.

Key in the actual search phrase, putting quotes around it therefore Google looks for exactly what we would like. Google returns 5,59o,000 results, If you place in puppy breeds. If you are concerned by video, you will maybe hate to read about building link. Try top of the right-hand corner for this number.

Heard of Sumantra Roy? Not likely. Hes a man who specializes in certain keyword research and Search Engine Optimization. This pushing best link building services website has endless influential warnings for the reason for it. He's devised a system called the Keyword Effectiveness Index or KEI to assess the potential of a keyword. I use an easier version of it. Here it is:

KEI = Demand / Supply

That is - Demand separated by Supply. The bigger the KEI the greater. Thus giving a simplified KEI to you that ranges from 1-10. People compare this to the Richter Scale, and therefore each successive number is dramatically better compared to the last number.

In our illustration above, the KEI for dog would be.04, which isnt that great.

Dog Training Basics yields 45,600 results for Google. The KEI will be 4, that will be great. Hmmwait one minute. Our lesson is concluded by that. Bye. [Sound of running down the hallway and door slamming]. A bit nerd humor there.

Perform a few more and see what you develop. Used to do dog name and got a of.10, that is bad. I also tried dog present, which got me a KEI of.07.

I usually get the greatest KEI key words and connect them back into the Overture software and test it again.

Furthermore, Wordtracker does this all for you. Try it free of charge and see how easy it's. Just bear in mind that they use different sources for both demand and supply than my example above, but that shouldnt make too much of a difference.

So now we should have a much smaller list that's the right prospects on it..
